The Co-op holds food preparation classes, environmental movie screenings, and other related events open to all members, potential members, and friends. The calendar is set up with Meetup.org. Membership to the MLOC – Events calendar is seperate from membership to the Co-op. Joining the Co-op does not sign you up for the Events calendar and visa-versa.

Healthy Foods Preparation Classes
Learn about a different type of healthy food preparation each month – raw foods, foods that are good for your heart, gluten free grains. We’ll prepare seasonal produce, canning summer fruits, make tomato sauce, and even learn how to detox in the winter. join us each month for a pleasant afternoon social, and learn about delicious and healthy food preparation.

Certified Holistic Health Counselor/ Whole Foods Chef – Phyllis Deering
Phyllis is a certified Holistic Health Counselor with over 20 years practicing in the field of nutrition. She is a coach, educator, and chef skilled in multiple food disciplines. Certified by the Institute for Food Studies and The National Gourmet Institute, Phyllis has authored healthy alternative menus for schools, taught food education, and, overall, dedicated her life to sharing and promoting health through nutrition in the public and private sector.
