Our Newsletter

The members get a weekly newsletter to keep up with what's happening in the Co-op and the organic political world. We encourage our members to go on line and voice their opinion through links provided. A copy of the newsletter is available here.

Articles from the Organic Consumers Association are often reprinted in our newsletter. They are a very active organization, working hard to keep "organic" politically clean. I highly suggest subscribing to their organization.

This is how we do it...

You don’t have to join the Co-op to try it out – Choose the size basket you think you would be most interested in and your first basket can be a Trial Basket. Just fill out the form or call to set it up!

Produce day is on Tuesdays – we will periodically take a week off if a school holiday falls on or near produce day. Please check the calendar. If a sudden change will occur in the schedule, I will inform you through email and the Member Newsletter. Produce is usually sorted and ready for pick-up in my garage by 3:00 pm – sometimes even earlier.

Remembering to pick up is your responsibility – If you provide an email address I can send a reminder on produce day. If your bag is still here the following morning or later, you may get a gentle reminder email. But, I will not always be around to remind you that it is produce day. Please mark your calendars. If you forget a basket, it is still your responsibility to pay for it. I am not responsible for baskets not picked up on time.

If you need to cancel a week for any reason – You can notify the co-op by email or in writing on your invoice by noon the Monday before produce day.

There are dairy and other packaged organic items for sale too – from the refrigerators in the garage, that you pay for when you pick them up. You can also order whole cases of any fruit or vegetable through the co-op.

There is a $50 Membership fee – The membership fee covers 2 boat bags and the last $20 spent in the co-op if you decide to leave at any time. It is a one time fee. The bags will be made up for you after payment is received. If your decision to leave is sudden and you are paid up, the $20 is refundable.

The 2 boat bags are used to sort and carry home your produce. Each week you bring back the bag from the week before and your produce will be in your other bag. They keep rotating like this. If you forget to bring back your bag, don't worry, the next week your produce will just be in a box instead. Additional boat bags are $15 each. If you decide to leave the co-op, you keep your boat bags.

Our members are not required to donate time – but if you are interested in sorting 2 to 4 hours for a free bag of produce, even periodically, please let me know.

We offer delivery in Mountain Lakes on Tuesdays for $5.00 – Delivered items are pre-paid and your bag will be left at your house in an agreed on location after 4:00 pm on Produce Day.
